MEAN-management-begrebet er udtænkt og formuleret af filosoffen, professoren og erhvervsmanden Morten Albæk og et korrektiv til LEAN-tankegangens ødelæggende indvirkning på menneskets evne til refleksion, kritisk tænkning og innovation.
MEAN-management-begrebet henviser til Meaningfulness og det forhold, at den effektive organisation er en organisation, hvor medarbejderne er stolte over og engagerede i deres arbejde. Adskillige studier har for længst bevist, at jo højere stolthed, engagement og tilfredshed blandt medarbejdere, jo højere lønsomhed og effektivitet i virksomheden. Men moralen er, at en essentiel komponent i stolthedens DNA er, at medarbejderne kan forstå meningen og formålet med det, de laver. Hvis meningsfuldheden forsvinder, forsvinder ikke blot den kritiske tænkende medarbejder, men muligheden for at skabe den hypereffektive organisation bliver til et fatamorgana.

MEAN-management er et af de vigtigste foredrag fra en af Danmarks mest markante unge ledere. I forlængelse af Christian Stadil og Steen Hildebrandt, som skabte og udviklede virksomhedsfilosofien "Company Karma", vil Morten Albæks tanker om MEAN-management få en afgørende betydning for fremtidens nye meningsfulde måde at tjene penge på. The MEAN management concept was conceived and formulated by the philosopher, professor and entrepreneur Morten Albæk as a counter to LEAN management, which has had a devastating impact on people’s ability to reflect, think critically and innovate.
The MEAN management concept refers to meaningfulness and the fact that a productive organization is an organization where employees are proud of and engaged in their work. Multiple studies have shown that the greater pride, engagement and satisfaction employees feel, the greater the profitability and efficiency of the company. The key is that the employee understands the meaning and purpose of their work. If the meaning disappears, the critical thinking employee will too and with them, the possibility of creating a hyper-effective organization will become a mere mirage.

MEAN management is one of the most important lectures from one of Denmark’s most distinguished young leaders. Following Christian Stadil and Steen Hildebrandt, who created and developed the business-philosophy "Company Karma," Morten Albæk’s take on MEAN management will have an important impact on the future’s new meaningful ways of earning money.
