Nutidens chef er en belastning – ikke et aktiv. Så enkelt beskriver Lars Kolind den ledelsestradition, som næsten alle virksomheder i Danmark bruger. Den traditionelle chef prøver at tvinge medarbejderne til at yde det maksimale gennem resultatkontrakter, KPI’er, LEAN, rapportering og kontrol. Det virker simpelt hen ikke, argumenterer Kolind. Det der virker er at skabe rammer, hvor medarbejderne har frihed til at bruge deres faglighed til at nå mål, der giver mening. Det er Kolinds pointe, og han har noget at have den i. Som direktør og bestyrelsesformand har han udviklet en række virksomheder og organisationer til verdens førende inden for deres felt.

Today's boss is a burden - not an asset.

The traditional role of a boss is to push the employees to perform to the max through performance contracts, KPIs, LEAN, reporting and control. It just does not work, argues Lars Kolind.
