Kasper Holten er dansk sceneinstruktør og øverste chef for Det Kongelige Teater i Danmark. Fra 2011 til 2017 var han operachef for The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London. Inden sin tid i London, fra 2000 til 2011, var han operachef på Det Kongelige Teater. Han har opsat mere end 70 operaer, skuespil og musicals i hele verden. I 2005 stod han blandt andre i spidsen for åbningen af Operaen i København. Kasper Holten er adjungeret professor ved CBS. Kasper Holten debuterede som filminstruktør i 2011, da han lavede “Juan” efter Mozarts opera “Don Juan”. Kasper Holten er anerkendt internationalt som operainstruktør og efterspurgt i hele verden for sin personlige og nyskabende tilgang til de største klassikere såvel som de helt nye, moderne operaer og musicals.

Kasper Holten holder foredrag både nationalt og internationalt om, hvordan man får mennesker til at præstere bedre gennem en mere meningsfuld og subjektiv tilgang til jobbet. Hans evne til at få hele organisationen til at yde det ypperste indrammes af hans mindset, som lyder: “Vi skal få mennesker til at græde” – et mantra, der skal forstås af hele organisationen.

Biography

Kasper Holten is a Danish Stage director and has been Artistic Director of The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London from 2011-2017. Before his time in London, he served Artistic Director of The Royal Danish Theatre from 2000-2011. He has directed more than 60 operas, plays and musicals in several European countries, as well as USA and Russia.  In 2005, he contributed to the opening of the Opera House in Copenhagen. Kasper Holten also serves as honorary professor at Copenhagen Business School. Furthermore, Kasper Holten debuted as film director in 2011 with “Juan” based on Mozart’s opera “Don Juan.” Kasper Holten is a renowned international director of Opera. He is popular all over the world for his personal and novel approach to the biggest classics as well as the newest, modern operas and musicals.

Kasper Holten lectures nationally and internationally about how to get individuals to perform better through a more meaningful and subjective approach to their jobs. His ability to get the entire organisation to perform their most outstanding is encircled by his mindset which is: “we must make people cry” – a mantra which must be understood and lived by the entire organisation.
